Room 5,s ANZAC Stories

On the 25 April 1915 the soldiers went to Gallipoli.  The soldiers had to live in trenches. They got there in ships.  Some of them died and some of them got wounded.  They went to war so we could be free.  The poppies support the people who died in the war. On ANZAC Day we remember them.  I think that every soldier loves New Zealand.

The soldiers went to war so we can be free.  In 1915 the soldiers went to Gallipoli to fight.  The trenches are where the soldiers had to live.  Some soldiers legs and arms came off.  The fought so New Zealand and Australia can be free.  The field where the soldiers died is where the poppies grew.  On ANZAC Day we have to remember them.  I felt sad because nearly all of the soldiers died.

The soldiers from New Zealand and Australia went to war.  The soldiers went to Gallipoli in Turkey.  They dug trenches with shovels.  Some soldiers died and some soldiers stayed alive and got medals.  The brave soldiers went to war to save lots of people.  After the war ended lots of poppies grew from the ground.  On ANZAC Day it will be fun.  I think the soldiers were very brave.

The soldiers went into the war in Gallipoli.  That is in Turkey.  A long time ago there was a man who went to war and he died.  They needed to live in trenches.  They needed to save New Zealand and Australia.  The soldiers went to war so they can save us.  The poppies  are for the men that died so that we can remember them.  On ANZAC Day we celebrate the men that went to war.  I think that soldiers are real.

When the soldiers went to war they fought.  The soldiers went on some ships to Gallipoli.  Then the soldiers had to live in trenches.  Some of the soldiers died.  If the soldiers didn’t fight we would not be here.  When the soldiers died the poppies grew.  On ANZAC Day we remember the soldiers.  I think one of the soldiers did not die.

The soldiers go to Gallipoli in 25th April 1915 to fight in the trenches for a lot of days.  They must have been hungry.  They went to war so we are free.  It is sad when the soldiers died.  Poppies grew on top of the dead soldiers.

In 1915 all the men had to go to Gallipoli to fight.  Heaps of men died.  The men had to live in trenches.  Some men’s legs and arms got blown off.  They went to war so we can be free.  Poppies are the ANZAC flowers because they grew beside the soldiers.  I feel sad.

When the soldiers went to Gallipoli they went on a big boat.  In 1915 the soldiers went to Gallipoli.  The trenches were full with wee and poo.  Some of the soldiers died and some of them got wounded.  They went to war so that we can be free and not get controlled by other people.  The poppies grew where the soldiers died.  ANZAC Day supports the men who went to war.  I feel sad because I think the men who went to war are sore.

When the soldiers went to Gallipoli they went on a ship.  In the trenches they had to stay in the trenches for a long time.  They couldn’t get some food.  Then one soldier got shot.  They had to save us so we can be free.  Every soldier that got killed got buried in a hole and then poppies were growing.  On ANZAC Day we are going to have a parade. I think we are going to have a parade.
